We brainstormed and brainstormed about engagement photo locations all over the bay area, and then it dawned on her…”Why don’t we do our engagement shoot in Sausalito, where we got engaged?” My instant response? “LOVE it!” (San Francisco has tons of great signature locations we can use as backdrops, but I love it when we shoot in a location of personal significance to the couple.)
So, for Monique and Leon’s engagement shoot, we headed out to Sausalito and started at the marina. I love this Marina…you can get right down next to the boats!

After a quick wardrobe change, we strolled around downtown Sausalito. This city is so quaint and cute! Starting with a nice little garden…

To great light in an alley way off the main street…

Then we headed up to the Marin Headlands where Leon actually proposed to Monique. If you’ve never been up to the Marin Headlands, you might need to your imagination a little here, but the view of San Francisco is breathtaking!!! Of course, this was one of those cloudy (and freezing!, at least up here) days in San Francisco, and you can barely make out the Golden Gate Bridge behind them. We waited and waited (Monique, you were BRAVE!!!) for the Golden Gate Bridge to reemerge…but it really wasn’t worth getting sick from.

A few quick shots in the barracks before heading back to the cars…

Since we started the engagement photography location discussion pondering signature SF locations, we decided to close out the morning with a few final shots in Potrero Hill with the San Francisco skyline as the backdrop.

Monique and Leon – We had a great time hanging out with you guys on the engagement shoot, and I am so excited for your wedding!
