Olivia and Kevin Wedding: Quail Lodge / Quail Meadow, Carmel-by-the-Sea
Posted September 28th, 2008 in Slideshow, WeddingWe first met Olivia and Kevin through the referral of a client, and ever since then, they’ve referred quite a few clients to us as well. We’ve already met them several times this year, including at Christina and Rei’s wedding back in June. By the time this past weekend rolled around, we felt as if we already knew them so well! Kevin and I also had something in common - we both grew up as kids in Kaohsiung, practically around the same neighborhood!
It was another gorgeous autumn day, early overcast burned off in time for the ceremony. The ceremony was held at the Quail Meadow overlooking a beautiful lake with swans, horses, rolling hills, and treetops as the perfect backdrop. The reception was then held at the Quail Lodge.
It was a blast working with them all day - their entourage was so supportive - granted sometimes wacky, sometimes crazy - but always lightened the mood and brought smiles to the bride and groom!
Olivia and Kevin, congratulations!!!

Thank you so keeping your ring so shiny and sparkling! It’s absolutely radiant!

We once again put together a group shot of the all the important accessories.

I tried to tell them to pretend as if the cameras weren’t there - to which she picked up her own camera to capture the proof that we were indeed there…!

I love this silhouette - it’s the moment right before their lips come together…

Isn’t she just stunning?

Yi-Shan and Robert Wedding: Saratoga Country Club
Posted September 23rd, 2008 in Slideshow, WeddingWe shot Robert and Yi-Shan’s wedding a few weeks ago, and it was just a perfect day in the Bay Area - clear blue sky and a warm sunny day!
The day started at the Cypress Hotel in Cupertino, and we were serenaded with Mandarin pop from Yi-Shan’s friends and family… okay, actually, they were just practicing for their rendition later that evening! All the friends and family were so supportive of both of them as they prepared for the big day ahead of them. A couple of them were just hilarious - all the singing and the laughing really lightened the atmosphere!
Saratoga Country Club was a fantastic venue with an expansive view looking back at the bay. The reception was held on site as well, with the ballroom perched on a hill overlooking the swimming pool and the golf course.
Robert and Yi-Shan, thank you for having us be part of your day, we truly enjoyed the experience with your family and friends!

We laid out all the items to create a group shot - we rather like it!

This little plastic tree was used to hold up the name tag, what a great idea!

Doesn’t she simply look stunning?

Love their expressions!

The wedding day was the same day as the autumn moon festival, it was appropriate to capture the full moon in the background!

Once again, the full slideshow containing the hightlights (~200 images) from the wedding!

Mai Thy and Holbrook Wedding: Stanford Memorial Church and Dynasty, San Jose
Posted September 4th, 2008 in Slideshow, WeddingWe had back-to-back weddings this past Labor Day weekend - we were completely exhausted by the end of the 2nd days, but what a gratifying experience it had been!
Mai Thy and Holbrook got married on Saturday at the Stanford Memorial Church, our 2nd wedding at the venue in 2 weeks. After the ceremony, we stopped at a beautiful floral garden right on Embarcadero Avenue for a few photos with the entire bridal party. From the pictures below, you’d probably agree that Elizabeth Gamble Garden is one of those places you’d expect to wander into only in the dreams.
It was absolutely a pleasure spending the day with Mai Thy, Holbrook, and their families. They were caring, supportive, and always encouraging, from the pure joy of marching down the aisle to the emotional first dance. The bridal party was also full of surprises - they were rehearsing throughout the day the big Indian dance number for the reception later that evening!
Congratulations to you two, and thank you for sharing your wonderful day with us!

They couldn’t figure out how to tie a bow tie - what better source of information than YouTube!!

He is Mr. GQ in the photograph!

Is this garden just divine?

The whole family came together to watch the slideshow

My absolute favorite image from this day - the emotion was so beautiful and transparent in her eyes

Once again, we created an on-site slideshow at the reception. Not everyone made it to the ceremony earlier in the day, and it was great to share with all the guests the emotion and joy of the day. Once again, just click on the “PLAY” button below to start the slideshow.
